Your voice will be heard with the team, executive, and during skip level meetings. No micromanaging as they count on me to get the job done. Everyone in the commercial auto department have been very supported!

I was able to perform my role with a lot of autonomy. I had the support of my manager, director and my local avp. I was able to work from home during the pandemic and post pandemic. Plus; PTO’s, 401 (k) match, flex works hours, health plan, vision, dental and life insurance and others benefits. I

Cons

High volume and never got the role that I really wanted inside Kemper. They always interviewed me because they had to do it.

Pros

File Ownership Reasonable work load Work life balance Feeling trusted- they pay you to do a job and expect you will do what your paid to do until you give them a reason not to. Therefore, no micro-managing Everyone is very nice and open to helping. Pay is competitive w/other companies. PTO & 401k is good WORK F/HOME Available, another form of an employer showing they trust you. Also, a big plus for work life balance when you don't have to worry about travel time (I live pretty far f/the office) They appear to be open to listening to how we can make things better as it pertains to processes to make things easier for their employees.

Cons

Need a more organized training plan, great trainers, just a lot of info and not enough time to remember everything in such a short training period. Health ins package seems to be pretty expensive compared to my prior insurance job. It would have been nice if they gave you a few days of PTO upfront then allowed you to accrue the rest, but so far they do seem to be flexible with schedule which helps.
