Pros

The people you work with (co-workers) are nice and friendly.

Cons

Very high turn-over with employees since morale is very low for these reasons: There is no career path in claims that people are frustrated since they do not know what they should do in order to get promoted. The only clear expectations provided are the consequences including termination if the unrealistic goals are not met by the adjusters. The claims department is currently a dead-end job unless you know someone from the top and you are not a minority. Upper management constantly provides "fake news" like compensation and spinning it. And yet, employees for the past few years have not received any pay increases. If one received a pay raise, that was only around 1% (keep in mind that other carriers are giving bonuses - don't expect bonuses at Kemper).

Pros

Well run company. Company is growing and gaining policies. Development and future promotional opportunities. Leadership support is outstanding. Onboarding and training is focus and very organized. If you are looking for an insurance company that cares about it's employees, this is the place for you. Competitive salaries, pension and 401K match.

Cons

Does not have any bonuses for staff as other companies do connected to customers service goal.

Short on adjusters

Pros

Management is great. They don't micromanage and are understanding. If you ever have trouble they help and are patient of people of all experiences.

Cons

Just the client and technology they use. You have to keep time but that's difficult when in the middle of a call your computer needs to be restarted because the system for putting claims in shuts down or has issues/errors constantly.
