Pros

It's a steady job. They do offer benifits, if u want to pay an arm and a leg for them. 401k is not bad but could be better.

Cons

I have been an employee for over 14 years. I have seen so much change for the worse. The president and heads of the company are more focused on growth and pay no attention to the obvious issues. They have become the walmarts of the trucking company. Swooping in to buy up every small company. Then gobbling up their drivers and paying them next to nothing. They have unrealistic bonus programs which they know most will never get. They never follow up with raises. The drivers, mechanics and dispatchers are one of the lowest paid in the industry. They give raises then up the price of insurance so u get nothing. Every terminal pays completely different wages which is not fair. Equipment is a joke. Drivers are forced to drive trucks that should be put out of service then safety is constantly harping on them. They are not even allowed to run the speed limit. They cut corners every way they can to save a dime with equipment. But yet corporate employees have a gym, cafeteria, golf outings, family events etc.. But terminal employees get nothing. We are treated like lowly idiots. Corporate dispatchers also get quarterly bonuses and terminal dispatchers do not. Not to mention every boss, and safety personell are driving brand new vehicles with every added part unnecessary while we can't get raises. And terminal managers are a joke. Some are straight out of college with absolutely no trucking experience. others are so sick of their jobs they are ready to quit as well.
