Pros

Kennedy Care is the best company I have worked for in my 17 years as a caregiver, they actually listen to staff, take in consideration of staffs personal life, it's a breath of fresh air working for Kennedy Care. Also the clients are their main priority, and take it very serious that all needs are served, with also going above and beyond.

Cons

I think the main office has so much on them that they can't always be there to answer questions or messages, and or emails in a timely fashion.

Great small company to work for

Pros

After working administratively for some large organizations working for a small business like Kennedy Care has been refreshing. Postive change happens quickly and the team feels more like a family. In the two years that I've been here, I have witnessed a ton of new initiatives and processes that address both administrative and field staff concerns. Overall, a very positive environment.

Cons

This nature of this business is just difficult. Regardless of solid policies, a great management team, etc, the 24/7 nature of this business can be wearing. But, the team does a great job supporting each other through difficult situations and ultimately, everyone here does this work because they care about our clients.

Pros

My position in the office challenged me in ways that I'd never been challenged before, which I found both stressful and exciting. I learned a lot about management and really improved my skill set. As a caregiver, I was offered the flexibility to choose who to work with and when and had the opportunity to do what I really love which is make a difference in the lives of others. The job was stressful and it was hard, but the family-feel of the office made coming to work every day worth it. I had my own goals and objectives I was trying to reach both in my work and in my life outside of work and I always felt supported by my co-workers and supervisors in that regard. Overall, Kennedy Care is a great company to work for if you are looking for a top-notch work family :)

Cons

The responsibilities of my position changed dramatically in the first couple of months that I worked for Kennedy Care and I felt like at times there was an unrealistic idea of what one person could feasibly do. I spent just as many hours, if not more sometimes, outside of the office doing my job as I did in the office and the compensation for that was not in the realm of the effort I put in. I felt like I was always "on call" even when I was not actually on call which made it difficult for me to balance real-life with the job. I think the management definitely has good hearts and never intended to work any of us to exhaustion, but I sometimes felt like they didn't take a close enough look at the effects the workloads were having on us because all they were seeing was the bottom line.

In regards to your advice to management, we have implemented a few key changes in the past 6 months that have improved our admin job experience as stated by an uptick in internal satisfaction surveys. This includes a new system for on-call responsibilities and increasing the number of people on our services team. We will continue to do our best to listen to our staff and make thoughtful change!
