Needless Change From Uninformed Management

-Work in education -Make a difference in someone's life with your work -Work on a beautiful campus

Cons

-Needless and uninformed changes from upper management which makes doing your job much more difficult -Low support from upper management -Inability to use your expertise without being overridden by unqualified superiors/stakeholders -Most of the above issues stem from a chronic lack of communication and open channels -Culture and work/life balance can also be an issue in some areas These issues and more have led to massive amounts of employee departures over the last year. Leadership seems to have little interest in rectifying the issues and people continue to leave.

They don't treat their staff very well, not very organized as department or overall entity, unrealistic expectations and very low pay wages that are well below market value. Utilizes very old technology and not inclined to change.

Flexible work hours, though that depends on your department

Cons

University politics, anyone below the Director level is paid crap and you work harder and longer hours than the higher-ups. KSU doesn't care about the people who actually have to do the hard work to keep the University afloat. Directors and AVP's bark out orders and changes not even know what you do in your role or what you need to be successful in your job. KSU is a money hungry school who doesn't care about the staff or the students.
