Pros
Active community, lots of interesting and exciting events, intellectually stimulating, very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Cons
Part-time faculty teach many of the university's intro courses, so they represent a big chunk of first year students' gateway experiences at the University. But because these hard working individuals get no benefits, security, or perks, they have little or no interest in contributing much if anything to the development of student life or educational growth at the institution. Because most have to maintain other jobs to survive, they want to get in, teach, and get out. Students suffer for that.
