Pros

The colleges in the Kentucky system provide a good education at a reasonable price. The faculty are very qualified and know their subject well. The colleges offer steady empolyment and good benefits compared to other businesses in the community.

Cons

State budget reductions have financially impacted the colleges and have caused the tuition rates to increase to help cover the operating costs.

Pros

The pay is better for Adult Ed. at Gateway than any other community college in the area.

Cons

Management is awful. My boss didn't even show me where my training materials were or tell me what time to come in the next morning. He was not interested in the program at all, but rather, using it as a way to .promote himself within the academic community. We offer several ESL classes, and the teachers are very competent, but the person with the money and power is not interested in maintaing a much-needed program for low income, immigrant populations. He is teaching academic English, and he should be promoting Literacy level classes. He was the worst boss that I have ever had.
