Pros

What Pros? Seriously. I'm really trying to think of one thing. If you get into a clique you'll be protected at all costs and get away with just about anything so I guess that's a pro for the lucky few.

Cons

I felt out of place from the moment I joined the team. Some members were pretty openly unfriendly toward me which I excused as social awkwardness but it was pervasive. They would ignore me and all my contributions in team meetings. The only time they would acknowledge me was to scold me for something I had nothing to do with. My manager, the director, and other leadership essentially told me to stand up for myself but the reality was that only ostracized me further. I felt so alone and internalized a lot of the mistreatment. I thought that as long as I did my best and over delivered they would give me a break. Of course that didn't happen because these situations shouldn't happen in any legitimate, respectable business anywhere. I was laid off by two people I've never heard of before and to be honest it was the best thing to happen to me. Some other things: The pay is mediocre compared to industry standard. They fact that they have very serious cash flow issues. Rampant nepotism that has come back to haunt them. Hire competent people! especially leadership not just your friends or your friends, friends this isn't college. If you get bullied and don't speak up you'll be ostracized, if you speak up, you'll be ostracized. If you go above and beyond to prove you're worth of respect or dignity they'll gaslight you into thinking you didn't do anything special. There is no work-life balance, this job became my life even while working at home the perks they offered for working late were meager and did little to make this job a sustainable option for most people. When I did the math (Monthly Salary divided by the hours I worked I was making less than minimum wage) They brag about how great their training program is but it's really not helpful. All my knowledge and skills came from my previous job and my self-learning but their training was mandatory and ate up so much of my day (you had to do a full day's work and complete sessions simultaneously).

Pros

The people are great. Clients are generally kind and understanding. The team is young and eager. You'll work with some very smart innovative people.

Cons

Arbitrary promotion timelines that favor tenure far above performance. People just getting manager experience for the first time can make life hard for Senior Analysts and Analysts
