Working at KETOS has been a meaningful experience, especially for anyone passionate about solving real environmental challenges. The water technology space is tough and slow-moving, but that's what makes the work feel important. As a software lead, I've had genuine autonomy to build and shape systems from the ground up. The leadership is transparent about challenges - no sugarcoating - which I actually appreciate. You know where you stand and what needs to be done. The team is small but committed, and there's real collaboration across engineering, product, and operations. The vision is strong: making water testing faster, more accessible, and data-driven. When you see the product working in the field and solving real problems for customers, it's rewarding. The culture values resilience and problem-solving, which is essential in a startup environment where things change quickly.

This company had a great culture and an amazing team. Unfortunately, the CEO has no clue what she is doing and has run the company into the ground. She has no problem paying for extravagant company retreats, but will layoff the majority of the workforce without providing any notice or severance. They were hiring new employees within weeks of a mass layoff, which shows just how irresponsible and poorly managed this company is. Then while many of the employees who were laid off without severance were still looking for work they were posting photos of another extravagant retreat the few remaining employees were all treated to.
