The shop convenience does not make up for how bad the company sucks. The lowest wages in the industry and ultra bad insurance, and they will tell you "it's because we stay working in the slow times" which is not true at all, they stack out with the rest and when they do you dont get laid off, they fire you or they rotate you on other rigs so your working part time. They have too much overhead with being corporate that's why wages are so low. In this recent slowdown, everyone took a wage reduction but they HIRED ANOTHER SAFETY HAND!!! He even told me he doesnt know why they hired him, he has hardly any workload at all. They are just like most companies too where there's policies for everything but only get enforced when convenient or when they want to write you up. They wouldn't be in business anymore if it wasnt for Hess, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lose that work eventually and leave ND all together. Bottom line, dont believe the hype from anyone there, it isnt worth the low wages and rediculous insurance. The insurance has ultra high deductibles, they took the plan that puts all the costs on you as an employee. You can literally get a better quote by calling Blue Cross and doing an independent plan!!
