Pros

Strong senior management team. Super regional bank located in wide geographic location in U.S. Committed to remaining independent.

Cons

Struggling with credit quality problems. Retail branch network not located in growth markets. HQ in low growth mid-west. Heavily reliant on commercial Real Estate Division to achieve profit plan. Key Bank has recently closed several commercial real estate production offices and shut down all of its home builder lending program. There have been a number of layoffs and more are possible. The bank's stock price has taken quite a hit.

Pros

Broad product base with a National footprint. Amazing benefits package with an unheard of time off plan. Employee cost of benefits out of pocket was more than fair. Good future minded HR products like contributing HSA accounts. Diverse employee base with a strong sense of community pride and return.

Cons

Position in the marketplace can't compete with the Mega-Banks but has to defend market share against them. Treading water prior to economy unwinding that could also do signifcant damage to base and devalue shareholders stake. Cautious on some fronts and negligent on others.

Pros

Excellent benefits. Key has a great 401k matching, a cash balance pension, good selection of health coverage (including High Deductable Health Plans for HSAs), and generous PTO allocation.

Cons

Far too management heavy, more managers than people doing work. Senior management is completely out of touch with the work and issues faced by the people on the bottom. Projects are slammed in without proper time, resources, architecture. Developers are burned out by the heroic development style. Everything is driven by unreasonable and arbitrary deadlines, and very little is ever done right, if that causes a project to not be finished on time. This has massive snowballing impacts to future projects, production support personel, and in the end, customers.
