Pros

If you plan to use this a step into sales get in and get out. Avoid selling vision, there are no positives there. Sensor seemed to be the easiest to sell. The microscope guys seemed to get the best training but also a lot of attention. The measurement guys seemed to have the chillest manager.

Cons

I read the reviews before I joined the company and thought it can't be that bad. It was. My time with Keyence was even worse than I expected. This company is a mess. When I left most people I started with had quit for better jobs elsewhere. The only pro is it can set you up for a better job elsewhere. Long working hours are needed to achieve the insane KPIs and sales growth. Here's the kicker, you need to grow sales 30%+ every year, to make the same amount of bonus. The company makes more and more, while not rewarding employees and demanding more. Keyence will use you until nothing is left all of the people there are miserable. Other things I experienced The amount of favoritism and bias my manager showed was terrible. It was clear he didn't like me shortly after I started. When people quit and territory opened up, he passed me over repeatedly, even though I was more successful than people he was giving opportunity to. Vacation time can't really be used, you're expected to "make up for time off" as they don't change your KPI's or adjust sales goals when you take vacation. So if you take vacation, it kills your bonus or you kill yourself trying to hit goal. Mental health of many people there is seriously hurting. A couple of people had complete breakdowns while I was there. They quit shortly after without a job lined up because they just couldn't take it. I consider myself pretty tough, but it's really hard to see a coworker sobbing in the office. HR didn't seem to be doing anything other than covid rules. They hid most of the time and didn't even show up to whole company meetings. Covid/Working from home was an improvement. Sales were good and people were less stressed. I couldn't believe they plan to go back to the office. I knew couldn't so I found a better job. This company is stuck in the past.
