Pros

As a teaching fellow, I was given various responsibilities that helped me improve my teaching skills. I even taught full classes which I did not expect before starting the job. It is a great teaching environment and my coworkers are always there to support me.

Cons

It can be stressful and you have to be prepared to put in 100% effort.

Pros

-Your co-workers at every center as genuine, smart, and kind people. I've met great friends here and learn a lot from everyone. -The work is actually fun. The day goes by so fast because I find it enjoyable. -The kids and families are appreciative of your work. -Pay is good for an hourly job.

Cons

-Plans to expand have appeared to come to a halt. -Upper management is very reactive to issues that arise at all centers which does not allow the employees to figure it out on their own. -Meetings can be called for things that are not worth taking time out of your day for. -The day can be exhausted and expectations are that you are on your A game at all times. -Upper management appeared surprised when employees wanted lunch breaks (literally a law that you have to have them). You used to have to eat lunch with the kids, which was not a break from anything.

Pros

Building relationships with awesome kids and their families made most of the unfortunate things about this job worthwhile. Coworkers were also fantastic, and I'm happy to say that I learned a lot from them. Benefits were decent.

Cons

A previous reviewer absolutely nailed it: the Cult of Positivity is the dominant paradigm here. Feedback or ideas that aren't complimentary of KSL got shut down immediately, without transparency or meaningful dialogue. Comment about lack of accountability re: the product being sold is totally dead-on. Communication overall was abysmal, particularly between upper management and "everyone else." Numerous employees pushed back on lunch hours/breaks, overtime, and tip allocation. Upper management's inconsistency and opaqueness about employee rights and compensation felt really shady to me. I would've liked to have seen much more time spent on developing meaningful, research-backed teaching & curriculum so that what the customers experienced was worth more than just buzzwords on the website. I've worked in numerous child education settings, but KSL was one of the most disorganized and disappointing work experiences I've had.
