Pros

The hospital fills the gap between acute care hospitals, and the post acute care setting (i.e. nursing homes, SNFs, Rehabs, home health, etc.) The clinical care provided depends on location, and there are some very good people working there, especially in the nursing staff.

Cons

Bottom line is, Money First, People Second. I just cannot get past the mantra of a for-profit business like this. Making a buck is more important than making a difference for a patient.

Pros

I have already put in years of service, since 1998, it's close to home, and I like my co-workers.

Cons

Everything is about cost, budget, cut-backs, money. You work with MINIMUM staff for high accuity patients, and they go by cencus. Our bldg is HOT too, because it is old, and you are over-worked, and sweating. Not a fun working environment-very tense, rigid.

Pros

The pay is okay on the days that their is enough staff on the Floor. The cnas (most) are willing to help when needed. Some nurses are very willing to also help, The benifits are not so bad.If there is a day you need off they mostley give it to you.

Cons

The down side of kindred is that management is two faced. There is no problem stabbing a person in the back without blinking a eye.Management will stick toghter to get people fired so they dont get in trouble. Never enough people to take care of the residents. Sometimes their is only 4 cnas for 70 residents, most of the time only 1 or 2 nurses on the floor for 70 people. That is not proper care .
