Pros

No other jobs around. When one opens up....TAKE IT. tHE CORP PROTECTS THE CORP. You are but a warm body to them (that's if the heat works).

Cons

As stated in many other posts on other sites. They care about the bottom line only. They have no pblm whatsoever in lying to family and employees to get the top dollar. I have seen residents conned into moving rooms just to be able to put a "private pay" in that room.

Pros

Good opportunity for advancement within, arguably, the country's best chain of LTACHs. Extremely interesting and challenging patients. Also a good opportunity to learn and understand healthcare administration, risk management, healthcare billing & reimbursement, and corporate operations.

Cons

Average pay and slightly less than average benefits. Senior administration often fails to provide a clear vision and mission and communicates without consistency. Patient outcomes can be mentally and emotionally taxing on even those less sensitive individuals.

Pros

The residents and families are great. The salary is good and the benefits are good as well.

Cons

The management is unprofessional. The DON spends all day primping in a mirror, playing fart sounds on her cell phone during morning meeting, she is only there for the free house keeper and paycheck. The BOM is rude to everyone she comes in contact with. She repeatedly talks to residents, family members and staff in the same manner you would to scold a 5 year old child. She doesn't know her own job. She downgrades all of the staff. Her employees are constantly on edge because of her. She gets away with every complaint made on her, because that is just how she is. Abuse is abuse no matter what in my eyes.
