Pros

Great products, fun customers, always new items/changes so you don't get bored, excellent store support/software programs to make the job easier.

Cons

Average pay, few opportunities for advancement, little recognition in this position--the Store Team Leader gets all the glory even though you are the one on the floor making things happen.

Pros

The customers that come in and need help are great. Many of them are interesting and recognize and praise good help.

Cons

Kirkland's is horribly disorganized in every sense of the word I can think of. The stock room is a mess. I'm so embarrassed when a customer asks if we have more of something in the back and I have to tell them 'no' or 'I don't know' because I really don't! I can't ever find anything! I'd ask my managers for help but I don't think they'd give me the time of day. When I interviewed, I was told we'd never have any down time and there are always things to do. That is FAR from the truth. There are really only three things to do working here: Straighten your 'zone', help customers, or restock the already jam-packed shelves and sale's floor! Once that's done... then what? You have to walk around and pretend you're doing things. Absolutely terrible! My managers aren't exactly the friendliest either. And I never look forward to unloading that truck. They need to hire an outside service or special employees just to unload the truck... And organize the darn stock room! I feel under utilized here. I can feel my brain turning to mush and I haven't been working here very long. I'll definitely be quitting soon.

Pros

discount in the store; opprotunity for yearly increases

Cons

working every weekend; too many people requesting the same days off so some requests would be denied, even for emergencies
