Pros
The disctrict is supportive, the budgets that we have adequately serve our needs. The administration does not jump on to the latest fads (ie: block schedule, year-round school, etc) - they are very conservative in this area. The district is also fiscally-conservative - when budget cuts arose several years ago, the district weathered the storm much better than neighboring districts.
Cons
As a teacher, you are at the mercy of your building's administration. Many administrators are only worried about test scores or the success of the very lowest students. Large decisions are often only focused on the lowest-level students, so the rest of the students are not a consideration in the decision-making process.
