Comp plans reduced and quotas went from being manageable to extremely difficult to hit. This used to be a company where 75%+ of reps would hit quota regularly and now it’s typically less than 15-20% under the new plan. They will tell you the re-did comp plans to balance base salary with commission but the truth is you have to sell 2.5-3x more to make even close to the same income as we did under the old plan. Micromanagement to the extreme. Your emails will be monitored, your call activity, your product demos recorded and analyzed. If you aren’t wanting to have every aspect of your day analyzed and critiqued this is not the place for you. CEO has become totally out of touch with the organization, showing pictures of his mansion and new cars on morning meetings while people are struggling to meet ends meet. We were always told this place would always be sales people friendly and not make radical changes to the comp plan, that all went out of the window after the private equity acquisition.

Hello Knowster. Most companies don’t have quotas so low that almost every person on the sales floor hits them, so our new Vista targets put us on track with other companies in the industry. We have always monitored production as that is the only way to run a business and help employees achieve the goals they have set. Especially the revenue-producing side of the business. Unlimited time off but a lot of companies have the same benefit

Cons

Compensation is extremely low. A lot of CSMs are taking massive pay cuts with the change in how they are being compensated. And what I mean by that is variable comp is now unattainable no matter which segment of business you are in. CEO and CRO continue to say the comp is competitive for the market, even though it isn’t. In one morning briefing the CEO even said he was tired of answering the same question about comp when csms were asking if comp would be reviewed after the horrendous GTM changes that caused CsMs to make less money but have to manage more accounts. I’m sure the knowbe4 team will respond to this review trying to curb the appeal, but facts are facts. Your employees are being paid less and more of them are opting to leave the company because no one in a position of decision making seems to care. The return to office has been a nightmare. Most of my teammates are remote anyway so I sit on a zoom meeting in the office that I’m forced to drive to, 45 minutes away. That’s 18 hrs every month away from my family.

Hello Knowster. We have taken CSM feedback, and the CRO announced multiple changes based on feedback received at the end of July. Our CEO addressed compensation concerns multiple times, and so has our CRO. While you are managing more accounts, with the implementation of the Account Managers team, the CSM team is expected to have a lighter workload per account. The employee turnover rate has been declining for 6 months. With any changes, some people are going to be unhappy but overall the company feedback survey has shown employees to be thrilled with the culture and opportunities at KB4.
