Pros

Free fresh fruit and coffee.

Cons

Almost immediately after being hired I would get weekly reminders (from HR)to update my Linkedin and submit any and all KnowBe4 reviews I could. Of course they are requesting positive reviews. Also do yourself a favor and read the small print to the personality tesst. To see who it is copywritten by, it just put a weird vibe on the whole hiring process. They tell you from day 1 not to talk about politics or religion, but you have to pass this "test" to even be hired?

KnowBe4 does not and can't force positive reviews. We welcome all feedback both good and bad. HR does not send out weekly request to update your LinkedIn or to share KnowBe4 reviews. You are asked once at the start of your employment to update your LinkedIn profile. The only review requested is an "interview review". We ask new employees to do that early on while our interview process is still fresh in their minds. The testing that KnowBe4 uses during the application process is the Taylor Johnson Temperament Analysis® (T-JTA®) This original psychological test has been modified into several different versions. The T-JTA can still be bought on this site: https://www.tjta.com/asp/index.asp. It is used by many organizations around the globe. Given our rapid growth our plans do change and adjust. The whole company meets every morning at 9 AM where the entire staff is briefed on these changes/adjustments by the CEO and other Executives.

Looks great on paper, but ended up being a nightmare.

Pros

Enjoyed the steady flow of work, the communications via slack are fun, and holiday party at Universal. Office is nice.

Cons

Worst year of my life, felt small and would cry from the stress from my boss and being talked down to at least once a week, for a whole year... Micro-management to the extreme. Constantly being told to refer to such and such procedure or policy if you do anything wrong in the slightest. Was told by my director to "smile more" and be like the other girl in our department, who he once made cry during our team weekly meeting and we had to sit there as he badgered her to explain why/how she made a minor mistake on front of her peers. Passive aggressive robotic emotionless 1 on 1 meetings with this guy every week and the director would constantly focus on things he didn't like and never bothered providing praise for anything he did like. Was told not to interupt while having a conversation on a topic I was already informed on, and was trying to express this, but he didn't let me get a word in. Ended up sending me to get training on how to better communicate and afterward the career coach didn't understand why I was there because we were communicating just fine. Red flags from the very beginning--even after my interview, the HR woman called me a few minutes after and said I got the role and although she assured the team I was probably just nervous, they wanted to know, "Do you normally act like that?"... Who asks that?! Additionally, the director made us tell him exactly when we took lunch and what we ate. Requesting PTO was always uncomfortable and made to feel guilty about it. Eventually, I was let go based on a list of things the director basically didn't like about me and lawyers spammed me for months after with emails accusing me of keeping design files stating I wasn't able to share anything I made during my employment on a future portfolio(which I knew, I signed a doc at hire), despite telling them before I even left that I had kept nothing. I should mention this was all within the "Growth" department, so there was no one I could turn to because they were it. Never have I been made to feel so little, I was mentally wrecked for a long time after the whole ordeal.

We're concerned about your experience suggesting that you felt targeted by a director. Our culture and policies don’t tolerate such behavior. It’s uncommon for an issue like this to go unaddressed — if it had been reported, immediate action would have been taken. We encourage past and present employees to report such experiences to HR so we can investigate and take corrective measures. Your feedback is invaluable for us to ensure a respectful workplace for all.

Pros

Can't think of any currently.

Cons

Comp plans slashed, bonuses gone or unattainable through outrageously aggressive goals, demanding back in office after remote work (even for employees who have excellent sales performance), higher management is getting more harsh and rude pushing to work after hours, Scientology creeping in and not suitable for the work place.

Hi Knowster, thank you for your feedback. Firstly, at KnowBe4, we uphold a ‘No Religion and No Politics policy.’ While we respect individual beliefs, we ensure that such conversations do not take place during work hours, and they have no effect on our company's culture, internal promotions, or any business operations. With the guidance of our new ownership, Vista Equity Partners, we are working to enhance our compensation and commission structures for our sales team members. In terms of bonuses, all employees (after the initial 90 days) have the opportunity to earn monthly bonuses, ranging from $0 to $2,000, based on our company-wide sales performance. This year, we've already been awarded a $2,000 monthly bonus, in addition to several smaller bonuses, which do vary on a monthly basis. There has only been one month this year in which no bonus was attained. In regards to returning to the office, we genuinely believe that coming back can contribute to an enriched learning and team environment. Our intention is to promote collaboration, camaraderie, and a positive work environment for everyone. We genuinely appreciate the contributions you’ve made to KnowBe4!
