Pros
Pay...literally the only pro is the pay.
Cons
Kohls started out as a positive environment a lot of promises and a lot of pros presented. However, once you're in and the mask comes off . You see the true face of the business. There is no work life balance. As a manager of course more is expected of you but the "more" is to the point of work sleep repeat. The upper management and district level management is verbally abusive if you dont make number goals in selling credit card applications and reward sign ups. To the point that forcing a teenager to sell something they dont even understand and berating them for it. I was told to change my voice when talking to people. Associates are generally unhappy some seem content, but its more like stockholm syndrome. They roll with it as not to be beaten anymore. Some management and associates have looked into other businesses and career choices outside of kohls. When upper management caught word of this all of these people were made to feel like they were the lowest form of life and all us managers were asked to convince them to stay with kohls and not persue other avenues. The faux exterior shines bright with in the business world. But all the bells and whistles arent that shiny and loud. Kohls has been revered as a top green company when infact there are roughly 500 pages and tossed printed a day in each store. Tossed right into the trash compactor not recycled. Kohls has zero tolerance for personal growth unless within the company. Work life balance is non exsistent.
