Pros

Easy work that almost anyone can do with only minor training. Good discount. Easy to take care of the customers.

Cons

TERRIBLE pay. No bonuses. Pressure to solicit credit cards is foremost mission, and its unethical in its scope. Have to stay hours after scheduled time off to recover the store because too few people are scheduled. Customers are frequently rude and lie about discounts and pricing, and the associates are told to honor what the customer says and then yelled at later for doing what they were told. The rules and procedures the associates are supposed to follow are different depending on which manager is in charge. Management hates each other and works to undermine each other almost constantly. Some managers hide in their office all day while two or three people on the salesfloor do all the work. High turnover due to understaffing, unreasonable work expectations, drama amongst the staff and changing rules-procedures. No opportunities for advancement. No benefits at all. No pay raises for the last two years. Didn't even get a review this year. Stopped offering the corporate anonymous opinion survey due to incredibly low results. Overpriced merchandise.

Pros

Managers are nice and they try to help out. You can get days off if you request 2-3 weeks in advance. A couple times out of the year you do get a decent discount on some brands and can add other coupons on top of your employee discount. You are paid weekly. The dress code is decent for retail and you have more freedom to wear comfortable clothes than Sears or JcP. They use online schedules/time cards so you can check your hours from home. I do feel they are welcoming to employees of all races/religions/sexuality. Pay is fair for retail in a store like this.

Cons

Almost every problem comes from them scheduling as few people as possible. I feel like upper management is playing a game to see how few employees can be scheduled before sales drop. Enough people are NEVER scheduled to actually help customers or fold/hang/clean up. After closing plan on staying 2-3 hours after the doors are locked -- this means 2AM. If you work in the morning, plan to stay late to try and clean because even if you aren't scheduled to do it they will have you stay to clean. So don't make plans for after work -- you never know when you will leave no matter what shift you have. They used to have more employees during the day so the store wasn't so trashed and people being late wasn't a crisis. Customers are mad because of no employees being around to help and long lines. Since they are mad, they take it out by yelling at the staff.
