Pros

Really hard to get fired from. They do promote work life balance.

Cons

Payroll is unrealistic. Systems are very outdated and often break. Associates often complain about the technology available to them because it hinders getting their job done. Working in R2. There is no room for advancement because Kohls will not fire people. The DMs I have seen leave are jumping a sinking ship and or leaving because of their leader, RVP. R2. They are having trouble staffing the region with DMs due to the leader.

Pros

competitive pay stack ability of associate discount with other coupons that are available it gave me the ability to pay bills...really it is a terrible job.

Cons

payroll is being cut more and more as the years go by, meaning that salaried managers have to work even longer hours to ensure sets are done. work life balance is a JOKE. BEWARE: your job description will say you don't do "XYZ" tasks, that you are supposed to delegate those out. But when there is no one to delegate to (because of lack of payroll) you will find yourself doing more than you signed up for. Including fitting room recovery, being a cashier, etc. It is very disheartening to have such high expectations of a job only to feel like you are a glorified supervisor. Not enough time for you to spend in the office doing planning, business acumen, etc.

Pros

7 weeks of vacation! Work/life balance and great peer group prior to relocation. Really great place to work and develop a career.

Cons

Not every place in the country was like that. Was demoted during relocation, worked with inept management with no chance of getting back to prior position. Poorly run stores with no understanding of how to succeed. And the company is now run by the woman behind the frappichino and the woman who developed the walgreens app who will not shut up about serendipity. Serendipity doesn't get my 25,000 dollar paycut back.
