Okay job, but you better like pushing credit cards like crazy.
Pros
-Gave you freedom to work with unhappy customers at the register to fix the situation. -Management was friendly, and helpful when you had a concern. They really did care and wanted to see you do well. -Recognition of hard work. -Very open to letting you cross train and learn new things. -Employee safety a high priority. -Lots of free food in the break room. -Clear expectations from management.
Cons
-Pushing the credit cards is awful. It doesn't matter how good you are at any other facet of the job, if you can't push credit cards they will breathe down your neck for it. Really turned me off the company in general. They just see customers as vehicles to sell credit cards too and nothing more. The entire time I was always afraid about not selling enough credit cards. Management will get really pushy with you and even force you to walk around the store harassing customers to get one. This really ruined the job for me. If I was a customer I'd leave after receiving that kind of treatment. 99% of customers at Kohl's either already have one, can't get one due to bad credit, or do not want one. You will maybe sell 5 credit cards within 6 months. Not nearly enough to satisfy corporate's standards. They also expect employees who work mostly on the floor to sell credit cards when they only jump on a register for backup once in awhile. -Minimum wage, also poor pay for those who have been there awhile. -Not much room to grow within the company.
