Pros

Absolutely nothing. I don’t have a single nice thing to say about this place.

Cons

Upper management was horrific. They couldn’t keep people to save their lives because of the behavior they allowed by long term employees. These women would gang up on new employees and bully them into quitting. Making up crazy rumors just to have something to talk about. Every day was like walking into a high school and the bullies were 30-50 year old ladies.

Pros

Sephora is a wonderful company with some really great and progressive company values. They embrace diversity and are pretty woke for a corporation.

Cons

Sephora at Kohl's is a new partnership. Sephora will be phasing out it's partnership with JC Penneys but will continue to maintain it's stand-alone stores as well. The Kohl's discount was a great perk for employees. The seasonal holiday pay incentive definitely made the horrible retail worker experience more bearable. Cons: No PTO Kohls has a points system for absences during the first 90 days of employment which made it near impossible for anybody with kids or a family to stay employed long enough to make it past the 90 probationary period. Our schedules were absolute chaos. It was HORRIBLE. Our "work schedule" was assigned 1-2 weeks in advance and there was absolutely no consistency with the hours/schedule. That meant that you rarely got a 2 day weekend. Your work schedule worked varied from starting as early as 4:45am (Black Friday) to closing at 12am. Management didn't seem to account for the major inconvenience of scheduling an employee to be a closer until 12am and then be scheduled to open the very next day at 4:45am (again Black Friday). Another element of frustration was that one week you could work Saturday and then Monday-Wed and then the next week work a Sunday Tues-Friday off Saturday. It was just ridiculously inconsistent and made having an outside life virtually impossible. Also gave 4-6 hr work "days" so you wouldn't get a lunch and only (barely) be legally required to have a 15 minute break. Then sprinkle in the highly illegal

Pros

People "in the trenches" care a lot and work really hard.

Cons

Constant promises of advancement opportunities do not come to fruition. Input from employees hired outside of Kohl's is not valued and is met with scorn and skepticism. Advancement is extremely competitive and limited in scope. The axiom "promote your problems " probably originated here. Opportunities to network build are non existent. Will not align on what hybrid looks like, so some areas are effectively full time remote while others are required to be in office 2-3 days a week.
