      Culture has Shifted - Beware

      Pros

      When I interned at Kohl’s five years ago, it was amazing and where I wanted to spend my career. The culture was excellent, people were friendly, and work-life balance was great most of the time. Wow how things have changed! Now favoritism happens daily, work-life balance is out of control, and the culture couldn’t be worse. I’m glad I left when I did.

      Cons

      You never know when your job is safe. Kohl’s continue to go through reorg after reorg, firing people who have been loyal to Kohl’s and make too much money. They keep piling more and more work onto the current employees. Surveys say employees are overworked but nothing comes out of it. Pay is low for the amount of work you are doing. With Michelle as a CEO, it’s becoming a ruthless corporate environment.

      Don't trust upper management

      your direct team mates, the coffee shop, and cafeteria.

      Cons

      Senior Managers and above. DO NOT TRUST ANY OF THEM. They all "rule" by fear and intimidation. Kohl's preference is to hire sheep. If you're a sheep and OK with not being able to make a decision or having any leadership responsibilities than the Kohl's Marketing dept is a perfect spot for you. By the time Kohl's Marketing dept is done with you you'll be scared of your own shadow, your soul will be crushed, and you'll need countless therapy sessions to figure out nothing is wrong with you ...... it's them. Kohl's Marketing dept SUCKS. DO yourself a favor and withdraw your application or the thought of even applying. RUN AWAY.

      No Work-Life Balance

      You got really good discounts.

      Cons

      Didn't care about you unless you were getting people to sign up for credit cards. Will accuse of stealing with no evidence and then never apologize for the false accusation. Expect you to work all the time and every holiday. Can't change your hours (once you've told them what hours you work don't expect to be able to change them anytime soon). Bonuses goes to the same person every time (the person that's signed up the most credit card users).
