Pros

Easier to get away with things. Let's be blunt, it's on the same level as working at Target, Walmart job wise and pay wise you're no better working at McDonalds so the lack of micro-management is good for someone trying to complete college while working. If you worked well/knew how to BS you were left alone to do extremely monotonous retail jobs. Kohl's already gives discounts to its regular customers so the extra 15% isn't too big of a deal. Overnights were great and since the store was empty and you were left alone to do your tasks, if you're a college student enjoying your summer vacation you could come hungover if you could play it off.

Cons

Even though most of my pros were pretty much negatives already, there is no sugar coating Kohl's that you are in fact a wage slave. It has made me value my college studying a lot more when I see fellow coworkers breaking down to the cent how much money they are going to pay on food and childrens diapers. One of my assistant managers was a total lazy you know what but he eventually got the boot (but to think he was getting paid 55k for what he "did" boggles my mind). Shortly after he was replaced by someone in another store that was definitely friends with the store manager. The 01, 02, 03 and 04 were now all women and associated with one another outside work. So definitely conflict of interest there in promotion.
