Pros

Location, has been a good company to work for IN THE PAST

Cons

Youngsters being hired on through the intern program without any real experience or people skills. Upper management that does not care about the employees that make their bonuses possible. Lack of gratitude for the hard work those employees put forth to make to make it possible for upper management to receive their bonuses. Company is beginning a downward spiral as far as a GREAT place to work. since they are so proud of their Green Scene. Why not take on a more daunting task- To be a leader in associate work satisfaction.

Pros

The pay is good. If your store performs well the previous year, you get a nice % increase. The benefits are okay. They did just increase the level they'll match on your 401K and change the time it takes to be vested. Now you are vested right away. The Kohl's Perks are nice, but don't get a lot of attention by the company. Associate Shop Days with the double discount is a very nice money saver especially when combined with a pick-a-day coupon.

Cons

Everything else. You work a minimum of 45 hours a week, and that is if you are lucky. Closes are late most nights. Company is very tight with payroll, so you're normally staffed pretty light most nights. With only 3 assistant managers its hard to switch days if something comes up. The push for credit is unrelenting. The company can release planograms but then a district manager can come in and decided they don't like it, so you have to change it. Communication between departments on the corporate level is not always the best, so sometimes the stores will get two different messages from two different levels of the corporate office.
