Pros

There was always an opportunity to get assistance from managment. Also, you could get the chance to move from the floor to the register, which is more ideal, especially in a department store. Overall, people are friendly and it is what you make it.

Cons

Ther were not too many downsides; however, the one thing that had extensive ramifications was scheduling. There were a lot of issues with work schedules and somehow, every week , it never improved. This was very troubling, given that there are only 30-45 employees at the store, which should not be hard to construct schedules for.

Pros

Good benefits, great work environment (depending on the store manager), yes we can policy which helps you meet the needs of your customers easily, employee empowerment, and opportunities to move up in the company.

Cons

Each store is very unique as far as the work environment. So they're kind of like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. It all depends on your manager and how they choose to run the store.

Pros

Kohl's has average benefits and perks. Additionally, they are very focused on getting employees' feedback through their Associate surveys. Unfortunately, just because they ask for the feedback, they will not necessarily do anything about the feedback they receive.

Cons

The work-life balance is absolutely awful, even though that is something that management says that is one of the company's priorities. Additionally, they do not abide by their anti-retaliation policy. If you have issues with your job, do not bother sharing them with your manager and/or HR. They will either be ignored or you will be retaliated against. They seem big into career development, but it is extremely difficult to move up in the company unless you are in certain areas. It is most likely that you will take several lateral moves before you can get anywhere (or unless you are willing to relocate).
