Pros

Good pay and Benefits for Managers Good employee discount Strong retailer Training offered Learn many new ways to handle customers and employee situations

Cons

It is retail which means you have NO work life balance. When you work for Kohls they OWN you, especially as a manager. If you enjoy holidays now, you won't while working at Kohls. The hours the store is very bad for employees. If you have a personal emergency there is no real way to get time off without messing up all your co-managers schedules. This makes life very difficult. Communication on all levels is very poor. As a manager it was very difficult to manage associates because often times you did not have all the answers. It was fly by the seat of your pants type environment. Training is offered but not training in what is relevent to your every day job. The workload was very difficult to manage because there was never enough payroll to finish a project correctly. Upper management never wanted to hear the truth about what was going on in the store. They only wanted to hear the "right" answer.

Pros

Despite being retail, I was hired on as seasonal and loved every bit of it. Moved from replenishment to department associate and loved interacting with the customers. They kept me on after seasonal and I worked all parts of the store, but unfortunately the payroll was running low so they had to cut me. Would definitely go back again for seasonal or when business picks up again. Management is wonderful, the "E3's" show interest in your personal life and love to see you succeed. If you're a silent, quiet kind of person, no--you won't really receive much recognition or get to experience the full benefits of working at Kohl's. However, if you are a people person and are willing to go out of your way just to say "hi" and interact with customers/associates, you will have a lot of fun and be recognized as a person, not just a seasonal associate.

Cons

Completing all tasks on only a 4 hour shift would often prove difficult, but management understood that you could only do what time allowed for. Teamwork is key to success.

Pros

Great Healthcare , Paid time-off and employee discounts Good starter career to learn how a company runs and how to manage

Cons

Credit is a big deal at Kohls. It's a great atmosphere in the store when you make it. Not so nice when your store isn't making it.
