make your own schedule opportunity to get long term assignments can do 1 day only assignments some schools may offer you a permanent teaching position if they like you

Cons

kids may give you a hard time because you're a sub if you choose to be on-call, you must be awake at 6am and ready to leave home fast NO BENEFITS/HEALTH/401K/PTO

You choose which schools you want to go to and the pay is just fine

Cons

The morning priority call can make one unstable, because you may wake up early and take a bath but you may not receive a morning call. Most of their schools are downtown which was a bit far for me and they start early like 7AM.

Pros

Good Training (similar to professional development) and support from management. Respectful and cordial members of management at CSTN. Flexibility in scheduling. Management acknowledges and shows appreciation of consistency and dedication.

Cons

Depends on how you feel about charter schools. Some feel they take needed funds from the regular public schools- others feel they are beneficial in that they attempt to address the special needs of selected students (e.g. those from lower socioeconomic communities). I lean toward the later- although I know some career teachers in public schools feel differently for various reasons. Variable experiences, protocols at different schools-but less an issue if you are brought on as a long term sub. which is a possibility. Be aware, lots a patience is required to be successful.
