Abhorrent Leadership

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

None to share at this time.

Cons

The inadequate leadership at Kokua trickles down to all levels of the organization. The leadership team does not reflect the core values of the company and it is plainly obvious. The morale is dismal and the micromanagement is rampant. Feedback is not taken seriously even when it is shared by multiple people. It is a shame that such an important service is provided by a company who values profit over people.

Low pay for long hours

Pros

- teaching a variety of grades and subjects can be fun - if you like kids it can be fun interacting with them

Cons

- many schools have tons of misbehaved students - minimum wage for long hours- biggest con -not a career choice , most of us are here because we needed a job desperately while we look for something better - I assume that the turn over is high - there is only so much you can do as a sub to manage behavior and expectations for students who don’t know you

Pros

The managing staff and other teachers you meet are generally supportive and helpful. The hours are flexible also.

Cons

On-Call assignments require teachers to prepared for anything.
