Pros

-The products division offers some really flexible timings. As a result, work life balance does not suffer unless deployment is close by. -Appraisals are usually better than the industry standard for companies of this size. -You get to say that you worked in a hot field like mobility. You can use Kony as a stepping stone to better opportunities. -Some of product teams are doing great work. Freshers may get to learn a lot IF they join the right teams. Otherwise it'll be a waste of your time and potential.

Cons

-The company made some really bad policy decisions. Some big guns were brought into senior management from some really top notch companies. There was a lot of excitement among employees about the direction the company was going to take under this new leadership. This was 2 years ago. Presently, the attrition rate is very high. Most of the older employees have already left or are planning to leave. Almost everyone I have spoken to since I left are prepping for interviews. The aforementioned 'big guns' have also left after having failed to deliver on all fronts. -Originally Kony hired freshers from tier 1 colleges across India. This ensured good diversity and meant that the brightest students in India were contributing to the growth of Kony. Nowadays, freshers are being hired from local colleges only. The interview barrier was lowered due to some office politics and favoritism(long story). This has led to a lot of sub par candidates entering(bad coding skills, bad grasping power and really really bad communication skills). The product quality has suffered as a result. This has also led to a lot of groupism and language based discrimination. DO NOT JOIN Kony if you do not speak Telugu. That's the official language in this company now. English be damned. -The HR is powerless. All they do is organize festival celebrations. They do not protect employee rights. Even some lower level managers who have spent some time here seems to carry more weight than the HR. -I understand that mobility is an ever changing industry. But the top management is running all over the place trying to do too many things at once. We have lost so much valuable time just because the management realized midway through a project execution that this approach won't work/sell. These kind of things demoralize the workforce. -There is hardly any synergy between the different teams. No one knows/cares what the other team is trying to do.
