Pros

Once you get the hang on how to make the doughnuts, make the drinks and handle the POS system, it gets so much easier. Other than that its just stocking and cleaning most of the time.

Cons

Big events(free doughnut day/ buy a dozen get the second dozen for 78 cents/ etc.) are extremely stressful and never in my 3 years of working there are we adequately staffed or stocked. everything runs out. luckily its only once a year. Scheduling is a mess.

Pros

Low barrier to entry- as long as you can pass a drug screen + background check. Unlimited doughnuts and beverages while 'on the clock.' The day-to-day work is mind numbingly easy (under ideal conditions). Employee discounts on food and merchandise. Decent health insurance.

Cons

It's a monotonous grind. Groundhog Day. Lack of communication between management and employees. Sloppy shift handoffs. Supervisors cut too many corners, and their employees do the same. Employees are generally unhappy, downtrodden, and complain to anyone who will listen, because management's hands are tied from being able to solve problems at their level. This leads to a "learned helplessness" where employees lose faith in their boss/job/company, which drives down morale and productivity.
