Pros

The people you work with, some of the patients, and some of the store managers and employees

Cons

Management they do not know how to communicate effectively and directly. It's all about the all mighty dollar. Yes it is a business but when all you see patients as is dollar sign and not the care and treatment they receive is it really worth it. Not all our patients can afford the high prices they are asking them to pay each time. This use to be a place that cared about their employees and patients now its all about making sure the corporate employees pockets are getting fatter while their employees do the grunt work or tough it out in the trenches as they say. Policy and procedure is rarely if at all followed by management. They say it's a work life balance but I have yet to see that.

Pros

Probably the most thorough experience you can come by when it comes to managing and running a business. Getting your foot in the door here is pretty easy, and you will learn A LOT very fast - or drown.

Cons

Pay: It's a joke at all levels. Your salary is about 20% below market - and that will constantly be on your mind when you're on your feet all day for ~ 60 hours a week. Work/Life Balance: Doesn't exist. All your weekends and holidays go out the window when you take the offer. Expect to work around 70 hours during holidays. It seems the expectation is that the store should be the #1 priority. Vacation is looked at as a privilege that can be snatched away whenever someone feels necessary rather than something you've earned. Your personal life doesn't seem to matter here.

It's WHO you know, not WHAT you know

Pros

The corporate office is understaffed, so you're always busy

Cons

So many....Management hires based on who knows who, even if the candidate has 0 experience doing what the position requires. Positions are created for friends and family. Pay is low compared to the market. Benefits are expensive. Managers nit pick trivial issues, and ignore larger issues.
