Pros

-Depending on where you work you get union benefits/protections and they’re pretty solid. -Scheduling is pretty flexible -For what it’s worth, the Starbucks department is pretty easygoing -Most managers (on the surface anyways) are pretty accepting of all cultures, beliefs and backgrounds.

Cons

-very inconsistent hours— one week it’s 18 hours as per required by union or 37 -managers tend to pick and maintain favorites. Makes it incredibly harder to want to speak up and advocate for yourself if you want a change in departments, scheduling, wanting more hours, disputes with other employees, or anything else similar to that. -Turnover issues that in turn cause severe gaps in the schedules depending on the day, causing you to sometimes work more than four hours by yourself until someone else comes in.

Pros

I had a lot of fun working here in my early 20s and met a lot of great people. Plenty of opportunities for advancement and very flexible schedules. Great for people wanting a local job.

Cons

Worse thing about the job was rude customers.
