Pros

Year end bonus is really the only thing was makes them different then any other company. It's a nice check.

Cons

I am required to work super long shifts. People think I'm kidding when I tell them that a work a minimum of 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, all year long......not just during busy times if the year. I've lost touch with friends and family since all I want to do when I get home it sit (been standing for 10+ hours), eat and sleep. There is a horrible work/life balance with Kwik Trip and they pressure managers to work more and more, constantly giving them more tasks and telling them to make it happen.I work hard, but will eventually move on since I can't continue to work these hours and start a family.

Pros

Job security and year end bonus.

Cons

Upper management leaves little to be desired. I feel like a slave to the company. The people who make big decisions for the stores have probably never actually worked in the stores so have no idea what they are talking about half the time. Don Zietlow and his wife like to spew their religious and political beliefs onto us at year end meetings.

Pros

I cannot think of a single pro.

Cons

Where to begin? 1. Ridiculous middle-management nonsense: at the store I worked at, my boss had both her daughter and husband working there. The husband refused to lift anything heavy and sat down constantly to take breaks, even though it was made abundantly clear to the rest of us that we didn't get breaks...even if our shift was 9+ hours long. 2. I just need to reiterate that: NO. BREAKS. I've heard that some stores give breaks, but certainly not in Wisconsin Rapids on the East Side of town. I worked so much and never got to eat that all of my friends and family remarked on how gaunt I was becoming. 3. I was constantly reminded to make sure that there was always the "threat" of a secret shopper as a scare tactic to promote upselling to customers who hated it--and yet even after a 'perfect shop" and doing both the work of the manager and our own, employees would get stiffed on raises come review time. 4. At a corporate meeting, the owner of the company pressured us to fill the coffers of his wife's preferred charity...though we were all making minimum wage ourselves. 5. In Wisconsin, it gets pretty chilly (-30 degress) and yet I was always told to take the trash out--ONLY me. So I began wearing a turtleneck under the required shirt for warmth and was told to immediately cease this and buy an over-priced sweater with their gawdy logo on it.
