Pros

Management team that has programs to identify high potential talent. Rotation programs that provide different opportunities to those interested. Management team that encourages diversity. Constantly evolving processes looking for more effective/efficient solutions.

Cons

They will pile on responsibilities until you say no. Managers are generally very busy so although they mean well, you need to be proactive in asking for feedback.

Pros

- Exciting technology and work - Advancement opportunities - Get overtime pay equivalent to hourly rate of salary! Great benefit and can add 5-25% to your annual take home pay if you're willing to take on more responsibility and put in the work. - Awesome managers - Managers great at recognition - With merger, have more resources across company - Diversity and Inclusion - Ethics - Vacation and Sick Leave separate. Unlimited vacation (as long as you get your work done), unlimited sick leave (been very helpful in COVID pandemic times)

Cons

- Standard (post Affordable Healthcare) Defense Industry heathcare coverage. Used to be much better but coverage got worst due to law mandates. Even with change in law, once coverage and choices got worst industry stayed where they were and thus many other technology companies without government contracts have better healthcare insurance. - Since merger pay scale not that competitive with peers, but actual offers were above the pay scale and that made it competitive. Not sure if its still that way or not.

A decent place to work

Pros

L3Harris is a good place to work with ethics, family, and caring at its core. There are some good growth opportunities and many great people to work with. There are many subject matter experts who are eager to share their time and knowledge with the new employees. Company allows flexible time with an option of 4/10 or 9/80 work weeks and pseudo-unlimited vacation. Company matches the 401K at 6%. Great training for new engineers. Pay is ok for the experienced engineer, but good for the new grad engineers. I have had several opportunities to work in several departments as an engineer but it took a long time. I have finally found after many years where I really want to be.

Cons

Upper management is disconnected with engineers doing the work and poor communication. Too many metrics which seem to be all that upper management cares about. Senior upper management seems to have gotten too top heavy again. Too many leaders and not enough working engineers as well as too much turnover. Pay needs to increase in order to keep the experience engineers who are doing the actual work if L3Harris wants to keep them and staff the program appropriately. Had better health benefits in the past with costs steadily increasing. Benefits have gotten to be the same as other military subcontractors. The company need to distinguish itself in this area. Having trouble keeping the young engineers that they have trained. Been at the company a while and I am seeing the company going in the wrong direction for the employee. Internal website is horrible to the working engineer in general. It is difficult to find the group or resource you need to solve problems without already having to know the exact person in that group or resource. Some groups and programs can be very clickly especially if they hire from the same colleges all the time. Getting parts ordered can be fustrating. Can work long hours for long periods time. This is not the same company it used to be. Profits seem to be all the upper senior management care about.
