Pros

Easy to get in the door because they need to create revenue by having people in seats. Working for the Corporate Office you will be treated like a real person.

Cons

- No work life balance working in SIS for Software engineers … constant 60 hours week. - This is a matrix organization, the program team is who you interact with daily except for a couple weeks out of the year when the functional team works on raises. This is exactly how it sounds the functional team really does not know your contribution. - No technical or professional training, just compliance training. Don’t expect to grow technically. They will tell you during the interview or on this website that they train, but they do not technically train engineers when they work on programs. - No work life balance working in SIS for Software engineers … constant 60 hours week. The problem is that other local companies have better pay and raises locally so engineers are frequently leaving. This void causes overtime to make up for lost schedule. They do not redistribute engineers to offset for other programs that are understaffed or overworked. So it is a flip of the coin but it has affected my life - HR team that is not very friendly or approachable. This is a major problem, the HR cannot be trusted and as long as you know they are not there for employees but the company and treat them that way you will be fine. - Toxic Engineering Management -Small raises like government ... same raise pool for all disciplines

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. This is not the feedback we like to receive, and we are sorry to hear that you are feeling a disruption in your work/life balance. We do offer technical training for our engineering population, and it is unfortunate to hear that the availability of the training has not been communicated to you. Please reach out to your HR Business Partner or segment Learning & Development team for more information. If you have any ethical concerns around your management, we encourage you to reach out to our Ethics & Compliance Helpline (www.L3HarrisHelpline.com or 877-532-6339).

Pros

L3Harris is a super exciting place to work these days, especially post-merger. The technologies we develop are cutting edge and keep people safe. It's incredibly meaningful and important work, and the opportunities are endless. I've been with the company (in legacy form) for 10 years and have had various roles where I've been able to learn and develop into impactful leadership roles. The culture is steeped in technology, innovation, learning, and empowerment. The future looks even brighter and I'm truly proud to work here.

Cons

Variation in schedules across locations and legacy companies can be a bit of a challenge.

A company in transition

Pros

L3Harris has a great engineering community. They have a lot of IP that is critical to the defense infrastructure, and they have some really brilliant people. They've got quite a task in front of them, integrating and re-engineering the company following the merger of L3 and Harris. Unfortunately, there is a lot of internal forming and norming that needs to be done before the company can get back to performing.

Cons

It's rather chaotic following the merger. Many parts of the business are not functioning correctly (poor management oversight, lack of administrative or management support, etc). Your job in during this period may be fantastic, you may be underutilized, or you may get caught in a bad situation while new business processes are being figured out. Also, they're pairing down benefits, as they've been doing continually over the last ten years, from industry-leading to (slightly below) average.
