Pros

Worked with a great group of people in the office

Cons

A few of my colleges and I were laid off two and a half weeks before the holidays just so the company could save a little bit of money. We worked all through the pandemic because we were considered "essential". Meanwhile, other low preforming employees had been sitting on IDL for over a year and were able to find jobs elsewhere in the company or at some other company. As soon as work started to slow down, the employees who had been working the whole time were suddenly laid off the very next week. I was escorted out of the building and not even allowed to have some time to pack my personal items in my cube because they insisted on shipping them to me. I had worked there for almost 15 years and they treated me like I had done something terrible and needed to be escorted out immediately.

Pros

High Starting Salary, Easy Work, Corporate, there are times at work you have nothing to do, so you can browse Reddit.

Cons

You must work 40 works per week (even when not working on a Government Contract) Lunch is not paid Raises are low (mine with a standard performance rating was 2.2%) Very corporate things move too slow Boring Work Antiquated tech Management initiatives are typically done poorly Management seems to say one thing (that workers would agree) and do another thing (that workers hate) Facilities are extremely old I commonly see missing tiles, black mold, water damage, and peeling paint. No coffee or tea is provided for free, you have to buy your own. Work for home can only be done for a reason, i.e. you can't work from home if you want to.

L3Harris Response

We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We’d like to address a few of the concerns you listed. We recognize that we have some locations with older buildings, and we will share this feedback with our facilities teams. If you feel as though you are not being challenged by the work you are doing, we encourage you to have conversations with your manager and HR Business Partner about other opportunities that may be available to you. We do our best to try and match work for our employees that is both meaningful and challenging. Lastly, we have a pay-for-performance culture here at L3Harris, which means raises are based on an employee's performance over the previous year.

Toxic culture and zero leadership

Pros

Corporate L3Harris is doing a good job getting on their feet after the merger. Good salary and benefits.

Cons

L3Harris SSG (Wilmington, MA) has had a toxic work culture for years. Functional management rules the roost unchecked. When problems arise, management blames employees instead of looking in the mirror. There is no commitment to change the culture at the Wilmington site....because "management" doesn't think that's the problem. They're dead wrong, and it's sad that the L3Harris organizations above SSG let the circus continue. Great people are leaving at a higher rate, and we hear "Nothing to see here, everything's normal."
