Great Family Feel but Poor Leadership

Pros

LATICRETE gives you that real family company feel. Your colleagues make you feel at home and welcome and take the time to make sure you get to know as many people around the building as possible. The company seems to be growing relatively quickly which is a good sign. The benefits are pretty good along with the perks and company events. Hands-down the best perk is having the entire week of Christmas off without using vacation days. Compensation is fair also.

Cons

Slow to change. Strict dress code where you can only wear jeans on Friday's (get with the times people). Not open to working from home (again, get with the times!). Marketing Manager has no concept of marketing or communication in general. She goes to the gym two hours a day, uses her authority to her advantage when making, or not making, decisions and leaving/coming in whenever she wants, and is easily one of the biggest roadblocks for anyone reporting to her. No one understands how she keeps her job. Social media pages are horrendous. Management is close-minded and used to running things the same for years that they're not very willing to take on new initiatives to better the business.

Pros

Easy drive, family company, nice building.

Cons

Family company, which is a pro and a con. The majority of the employees here are long timers and do not like change. For all new employees joining the company, it's a hard environment to penetrate. These long timers are not kind to new employees, there is a lot of gossipy employees. There is no sense of confidentiality.

Be Very Wary

Pros

Week off between Christmas and New Year

Cons

I would be very wary of joining the marketing department under the current management. You will get hired to do a job and then never get empowered to do it. It was the most toxic work environment I have ever experienced in all of my working life. By far.
