Job to get your foot in the door- not long termm
Pros
None that I can think of - the people you work with but that isn't due to the company.
Cons
High turnaround of staff (in 3 years there, I've seen 59 people leave from just my lab) Poor management- progression depends on social relationships- bad workers who go for drinks with managers progress over competent workers. Poor pay- less than 6k than other companies Weekend work- expect this and longer hours with less shift allowance Poor quality of work- if you have just graduated and are expecting to carry out forensic work to a high standard - think again. When mistakes are made (which include huge forensic blunders that affect peoples lives) it is brushed under the carpet, hidden from clients and 'investigated by LGC' meaning a meeting and keeping client in dark. Senior management agree to work contracts that are unattainable so targets are high and EVERYONE ends up working at least 2hrs over their shift (with no overtime pay - it logs as flexi). Generally poor work environment, standards of work. Would only recommend to get your foot in the door and leave after 1 year for better job - wish I'd done that.
