      Flawed Science

      Pros

      Unfortunately there are very few. If it were not for the diligence of the junior staff then the company would go under. Sheer incompetence at senior management who treat their staff with utter contempt. Bullying by management is a daily battle; but, speak out and they will fire you immediately.

      Cons

      The science is completely flawed. Management used deceit, corruption, and mendacity to sell services which are not fit for purpose. PARA DNA is a prime example of its failed science. ParaDNA was evaluated internally but deemed highly inadequate for our service. Irrespective, LGC continues to sell this product globally. ParaDNA is one of many services deemed unsuitable for LGC but is still sold to unwitting customers.

      Pros

      LGC is extremely diverse company, it covers genomics, forensics, standards who make and supply reference materials and other CRMs, proficiency testing and it also has a NMI function. It therefore has a lot divisions and broad spectrum of staff and skillets, cut a long story short it is not a one trick pony type of organisation.

      Cons

      Not all the sectors work together with ease, this is the same as other organisations of this size, so there is a lot of duplication. However this is being looked into.

      Pros

      Very tight knit. Plenty of employee engagement. People are very friendly and understanding. Benefits are decent. Great place to work.

      Cons

      There has been a little international communication issue, but not anything too serious. There's not really anything else to complain about.
