My intern experience has undoubtedly been an extremely positive one. I was contacted about a week after I applied online and was given a brief phone interview. After that, I came in for an interview at the corporate office in The Woodlands. This interview lasted about two and a half hours. I fell in love with LGI Homes after hearing all about the company culture and their simple mission: to give first-time and long-time homebuyers quality homes at affordable prices. After being offered the position and interning for over a month, I can truly say that the culture is a positive and dynamic one. Every LGI Homes employee at the corporate headquarters has taken the time to get to know me by name and make me feel at home in the office. I have taken trips out into the field where sales consultants and managers have even taken the time to get to know me as well. I got to jump right in and feel that management really took the time to ensure that I was comfortable in my role. This company is one of a kind and growing at an exceptional rate. I am proud to say I got a chance to work for a company who truly cares about the people who work for them and believes in helping them not only reach, but exceed their goals.

You can make great money. They give you free lunch on training Thursdays and when you work all day on Saturday.

Cons

They never stop preaching there belief in there sales system. Very cultish, so I hope your thirsty for the kool aid. Apparently its more important to sell there LGI way than sell like a normal person. You also get lots of lip service and promises to make you rich. They tell new hires to go into debt because you will make so much money here. Never ever get a weekend off. The expectation is to even come in on your day off if you have a customer that comes in while not there. There is a malicious way of micromanaging which almost feels as if its water boarding. And of course, there will be a follow to this message which guards there image very tightly after I write this.
