Pros

benefits, there are no other pros in my opinion

Cons

poor pay, poor reimbursement, too many managers, unfriendly corporate staff, no leadership, poor training, no support at branch level. Top heavy management who think they now everything but in reality don't understand the industry. They have inexperienced managers who are too young and don;t understand healthcare. They don't appreciate true talent and don't understand communities they are taking over with buyouts. Very poor organization.

Pros

You are pretty much left to do your own thing. So far I haven't had any problems in the field.

Cons

The pay sucks, for a RN with over 30 years experience who brought them a 24/7 nursing case they said the most they could pay me was $19/ hour, and although I work over 75 miles away they could not pay mileage. What's worse is I just found out the LPN's that are working the case with me are making more than me at $20/hour. This is no way to treat a reliable, experienced nurse!!!

Pros

Autonomy. Freedom from the office once you were able to finally get on the road. The patients were mostly kind and grateful for the healthcare. Gas mileage was paid for, but the wear and tear on your car can not be recouped.

Cons

Everything else! Management was less educated than RN staff and joked about their higher position without having to get educational advancement. They required the RNs to gather own packets for each patient that was picked that morning. Per diem was how we were paid, so we were often held in the office d/t management lagging in prining itineraries off. Patient visits were often scattered and one spent hours on the road. Not profitable and was time consuming. No computer charting so hours of paper work every evening after an already long day!
