Pros

Terrific colleagues, bright, articulate and helpful to each other, really care about clients. Opportunity to manage own schedule and work remotely. Upper management strives to balance services with price pressure from the market, and communicates about current major trends and impact on the company well. Great 401K match by company, even for part-time, associate employees.

Cons

Inconsistent and ever-changing messages/expectations from managers, increasing caseloads. Rigid and stingy cost management. Depending on the office/unit, poor team management and poor communication with field/associate personnel. LHH employs part-time associate employees as a flexible work force to deliver a significant portion of its services, especially remote services, who receive no paid time off and few benefits.

Pros

You can be placed at some wonderful companies that rank in the Fortune 500 and fall within a variety of industries. Once trained, you are not micromanaged and can develop relationships directly with the employers where you are placed.

Cons

There is NO SALARY structure, NO pathway to increases, NO knowledge about how/why/when to expect a raise in either the hourly or per diem rate.

Pros

There is a lot of flexibility as a contractor, so you can take or decline work as the assignments become available. The work is very fulfilling, because you are really helping give people tools and direction when they're in one of the most difficult times of life--career transition. The few full time LHH staffers are very kind and willing to share information. Genuinely good people. There are often opportunities to learn and grow and take on new areas of expertise.

Cons

The salary for consultants has been stagnant for years, and is well below what training and development consultants make in other areas. There is also no guarantee of work, so not a good place if you are needing full time employment.
