Pros

The environment is friendly and family like. The people who work there are very smart. Great for entry level people as well as those retiring from the military or government.

Cons

Salaries are a little lower, but the benefits outweigh that.

LMI Response

Thanks for your review. Commenting here because it seems less than sporting to only respond with context for negatively charged feedback. LMI has competitive pressure and must respond to market forces, but as a mission-oriented not-for-profit consultancy, does not have quarterly targets to hit for earnings report purposes etc. Thirty-seven percent of LMI's workforce are military veterans, and 57% have served in government, but nobody wears their former rank or position on their sleeve, and virtually all are on a first name basis and equally approachable.

Pros

LMI has very bright amazing staff who are the best in their fields (especially within our Logistics practices). There is a strong focus on analytic support behind the recommendations and client support we provide. The firm historically has provided good benefits and a strong focus on its core consulting services (though this has changed over time).

Cons

There has been a shift in focus over the last 2-3 years away from core consulting services. The administrative/Overhead functions within LMI appear to be driving our transformation and have implemented systems and controls that are reducing efficiency. This is a company of analysts and many have done the math to see that admin positions are increasing faster than our consulting positions or growth rate. Additionally , the cost per admin position is increasing with the new management positions being created. This as well as a new building will put extra pressure on the direct staff to cover these costs.

Pros

It's a great place to work. Relaxed environment. Many departments for you to find good work.

Cons

Average age is low, so for people who want to work in a high-energy environment this might be an issue.
