Pros

Peers and management in the department are great! Plethora of resources to help you do your job.

Cons

For the size and strength of LPL, I was surprised my department was so discombobulated. Lots of initiatives to simultaneously improve the advisor experience and streamline internal processes but they are not planned out thoroughly and every single initiative while I was there ended up with more work being put on your plate. They are really struggling with keeping a full staff which just compounds the issue mentioned above.

Pros

Fully remote (pre- pandemic) Caring immediate managers Great, supportive teams

Cons

Upper management does not consider the needs and input of main staff or first line management. Constant, competing and shifting priorities mean all and none are important high pressure environment pay for performance is not honored, though constant output at ever increasing pace is always expected. Also, volunteer... Does nothing but add uncompensated work to your plate. The valued "consultative approach" is not implemented internally. New initiatives, responsibilities and tighter SLAs are pushed upon employees without any consultation or listening tours. Long time employees are not compensated as well as new hires and they know it and resent it.
