The company has a strong position in the storage networking field and compared to a start up there is job security. I love my job but I am not happy with the way management values my contribution to the team. I do not blame HR because they have a peephole view into what I work on. It's the managements responsibility to recognize and promote talent.

Cons

I am not sure how prevalent this is at LSI but the local management is completely disconnected with supporting competent employees in terms of compensation and promotions

Pros

Those reasons disappeared after LSI and Agere merged.

Cons

In many areas, it's like it's still the 1980's there. Hard to believe that a technology company still relies on "best practices" that are from that decade, than the 21st century. The old guard LSI still adhere to making decisions based solely on past CEO's edicts. If you aren't the top dog, then your opinion does not matter.

Pros

It is a very informational place to work. I learned a lot about the refinancing process through LSI - having never refinanced my own property myself I feel like I would be able to do so without many problems.

Cons

They treat their employees poorly, chances for advancement are not short of laughable, and there is no compensation for employees getting laid off.
