Pros

If you are the kind of SWE who can punch the clock, don't mind constantly and needlessly changing requirements, and don't mind being blamed for late or incomplete delivery when product managers completely fail to present requirements in a timely or organized way, LTK is actually a pretty great place to work. The pay is good for a remote role, the twice a year onsites are usually pretty fun, and the benefits are competitive. I think people outside of engineering at this company love their jobs and intend to stay as long as possible.

Cons

If you are the kind of engineer who enjoys gathering requirements, building reliable software, and spending time improving systems instead of just shoveling hobbled-together features out the door day and night, this might not be an ideal workplace for you. Tech leadership insists on hiring ONLY senior and above engineers and still treats those highly qualified people as fools. Expect to have VPs and "distinguished engineers" completely supplant your tech designs and implementation plans despite knowing little to nothing about your problem space, only to back peddle after actually investigating the problem, rather than having open conversations and providing feedback. Prepare to be insulted and belittled by engineering VPs (especially the ones with Amazon on their resumes) and prepare to absolutely snap your neck keeping pace with the company's changes in direction. Unlucky enough to be working on a system that suddenly becomes critical to the business's 5-year-plan? Don't expect additional resources and do NOT expect merit pay increases. What LTK calls "merit increases" are effectively cost of living raises. Internal promotion appears non-existent.

Pros

The people I worked with were great. The technology and engineering were good. Pay was very good.

Cons

No onboarding to speak of. Never provided expectations or success criteria for the job. Social media influencer focused business. Lost me when they began discussing hooking the 13-and-under age group on influencer culture.
