Pros

Company is in a very interesting place between brands and social media. Heavily technology oriented, very willing to adopt new and leading edge technology.

Cons

Company is completely unable to define itself, perpetually chasing the fad of the week rather than investing in their own strengths. Career growth is nonexistent, preferring to hire outside personnel into positions rather than promoting/training from within. High level of employee turnover at all levels. Expect to have to change employers instead of moving up within the company. Reorganizations are multiple times a year, with the commensurate wave of layoffs.

Pros

Depending on the team you're on you will have about 5 hours of work a week as long as you're good at politicking. But then again some teams are worked so hard that people literally developed health issues. Good luck.

Cons

A lot of your career progression will come down to are you "playing the game" correctly. As one manager put it "It doesn't really matter what work you do, what matters is the perception people have of the work you do." You will likely have 15+ hours of pointless meetings a week. You will need to learn to document everything you or you will likely be blamed for problems you had nothing to do with and have credit for your successes stolen by others. If you don't mind endless bureaucracy you can make this all work for you. They've already started layoffs without calling them layoffs though, and doing a good job has almost no impact on your value there.

Rudderless sinking ship

Pros

I was really excited to work here and felt like it was a great place to grow as an engineer and in a lot of ways I did. I always felt like many of the rank and file employees and first line managers seemed to be pretty solid.

Cons

Increasing amounts of restructuring. One to two times per year for at least the last 3 years. Work became increasingly pressured, in person events dropped off and were no longer fun. Most everyone was concerned they could get the axe. I think most engineers felt decently safe but they were not immune. Nearly everyone I was close with as an engineer is looking to leave, they literally told me, or I would not be shocked if they were. AI was being shoved down our throat. They were definitely monitoring token usage. Up your production with AI or be let go was not so subtly communicated towards us.
